DESCRIPTION:Conférence SFECO par ZOOM. Jeudi 19 janvier 2022\, 06:30 PM \n\n\n\nInscription obligatoire  auprès de Monique Crick \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n  \nStacey Pierson\, \nProfessor of the History of Chinese Ceramics \nDepartment of History of Art and Archaeology \nSOAS\, University of London. \nPresidente de « The Oriental Ceramic Society »\,  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n“Transfer and appropriation: the Impact of Buddhism on Chinese Ceramics”\n \n\n\nThis lecture examines the transformative impact of Buddhism on Chinese ceramic design\, style\, and function.\nBeginning with the earliest representations of the Buddha on southern burial jars following the introduction of Buddhism into China\, the lecture then considers the development of sancai figurines\, ‘secret colour’ celadons\, the eight Buddhist emblems on Ming imperial porcelain and the elaborate Tibetan Buddhist forms and decoration on 18th-century enamelled wares.\nThe significant but underexplored role of Buddhism in the development of Chinese ceramics from the 3rd century to the late Qing period will be revealed through examples recovered from archaeological sites\, temples\, tombs\, and museum collections.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n« Transfert et appropriation : l’impact du bouddhisme sur la céramique chinoise »\nCette conférence examine l’impact transformateur du bouddhisme sur la conception\, le style et la fonction de la céramique chinoise. Commençant par les premières représentations du Bouddha sur les bocaux funéraires du sud après l’introduction du bouddhisme en Chine\, la conférence examine ensuite le développement de figurines sancai\, des céladons « couleur secrète »\, les huit emblèmes bouddhistes sur la porcelaine impériale Ming et les formes bouddhistes tibétains élaborées et décoration sur émaillé du 18e siècle marchandises.
